Dinah- first generation college graduate of immigrant parents- first developed a love for travel as a child driving with her family from Chicago to Guatemala (her father’s homeland) by car. In the process, her Mexican mother made sure they detoured to visit nearly every state in Mexico. To date, her global journeys have led her to 23 countries in 6 of 7 continents. Antarctica is at the top of her bucket list!
Her day job is in K-12 education where she uses the prism of her life experiences to advocate for a social justice approach to learning. A part of this work involves her getting to travel the country working to help schools and staff implement project based learning. When she isn’t globe trotting, she and her wife, Malila enjoy tending to their urban farm that includes: their dog, cat, bunny, and 7 chickens in Oakland, CA. Her most recent trip was a blissful honeymoon to the Maldives and the United Arab Emirates. You can follow her and the Mrs. getting lost on Instagram at: @getlostwithlesbians.
